Hideo Kojima and Mark Cerny Checking Out the Performance Capture Process of The Order 1886 and The Last of Us

Looks like Metal Gear Solid Creator Hideo Kojima and PS4 Lead Architect Mark Cerny are on a trip together, exploring tech, presumably to be used for future games, as Tweeted by Kojima-san himself.

Cerny and Kojima-san also provided more details, posting that the two veteran developers are checking out the performance capture process used in The Order 1886 and The Last of Us, on top of facial scanning and photogrammetry tech.

For those unfamiliar with the term, Performance Capture is the relatively recent tech evolved from motion capture, and used to transfer human acting directly to a 3D model in games or animated movies.

I don’t know about you, but I find this extremely promising, especially thinking about the game Kojima-san is working on with his newly reborn Kojima Productions studio.
