More information has been trickling down the pipeline regarding the forthcoming Uncharted movie, based on the hit PS3 franchise. It's been reported that David O. Russell, the man behind the camera for such films like Three Kings and this year's The Fighter, would be directing the project but what about the cast? We have a confirmation, as if the title of this post (and my beautifully Photochopped image) didn't give that away already.

Take a look after the break for more information. I know your curious!I know that many of you have your assumptions as to who you would like to see fill the shoes of the notorious treasure hunter, Nathan Drake. It's been reported by the MTV Multiplayer Blog that Mark Wahlberg has been confirmed of his affiliation with the project, and he's been quoted saying:

"David is one of the best writer/directors I've ever worked with. The idea that he has is just insane. So hopefully we'll be making that movie this summer."

There are also some rumors floating around the rumor mill about who will be casted as supporting roles in the film, and from what this little bird has reported, it looks like Russell is interested in casting Joe Pesci and Robert De Niro. I almost feel a Casino or Goodfellas sequel in the works...

Kind of curious on how Pesci and De Niro will be fitting into the storyline? You're not the only one. Wahlberg was quoted saying this about the two actors:

"I'm obviously in whatever David wants to do but the idea of it is so off the charts: De Niro being my father, Pesci being my uncle. It's not going to be the watered-down version, that's for sure."

There you have it. So, an Uncharted film is confirmed with Mark Wahlberg taking on the role of Nathan Drake, but as for Pesci and De Niro... well, we'll know soon enough, I suppose.
