Wired Productions has announced developer LKA’s latest upcoming thriller Martha is Dead with a haunting teaser.

LKA, the developers behind The Town of Light are teasing a brand new game titled Martha is Dead which looks to send players through a dark story next year. The game bears a similar aesthetic to The Town of Light and is a first-person experience.

It’s set in Tuscany, 1944, during World War II and the desecrated body of a woman is found. The player controls her twin sister, a daughter to a German soldier and must deal with the trauma of loss and uncover the truth behind the murder. Trawling through folklore and the oncoming devastation of war.

Martha is Dead makes use of advanced texturing techniques to help create photo-realistic environments as well as the addition of real-time ray tracing. The game appears to be doing what I personally find LKA does well and tackles tough mental health topics through the means of telling a cinematic, and engaging story.

Luca Dalcò, Founder and Creative Director, LKA says, “At LKA we want to tell stories that push your imagination to the limits, while embracing those real-world elements that make our narratives more immersive and grounded,”

Why Ratchet & Clank is the Most Important PS5 Game

At current, no platforms have been specified but The Town of Light launched on PC, and then arrived later to Xbox One and PS4 with the Nintendo Switch receiving a Deluxe Edition. Additionally, LKA donated a percentage of profits made from The Town of Light and raised $10,000 for mental health awareness.

Martha is Dead is due to arrive sometime next year in 2020 with platforms still to be announced. You can check out some screenshots below.
