The free-to-play action-RPG Marvel Heroes brought together heroes from every corner of the Marvel Universe for fans to enjoy, while unfortunately it seems the title will be ending earlier than anticipated.

According to several former employees from the studio (primarily via Twitter), details have surfaced that developer Gazillion has effectively shut down and the studio's Marvel Heroes is currently planned to end this coming Friday, November 24th, effectively putting the game's shutdown over one month earlier than intended. This information was also reflected in an internal email sent by Gazillion CEO David von Dorman (which was received by PCGamesN) that confirmed the game's shutdown for this week.

News of the impending closure of Gazillion and the end of Marvel Heroes was first confirmed just over a week ago, as Disney had confirmed that the company would be ending its relationship with Gazillion, with support for the game originally planned to wind down at the end of the year on December 31st.

However, the new reports suggest that the game's end will be much earlier than anticipated, and is an unfortunate instance with Thanksgiving on the horizon. However, several studios, such as Blizzard and Bethesda Softworks, have already begun reaching out in support of the former studio's staff to provide assistance in helping them find new job opportunities.

Marvel Heroes first debuted back in 2013 on PC and Mac, while console versions of the game for PS4 and Xbox One released earlier this year.
