The recent release of Marvel Snap has taken the world by storm, generating 2 million dollars in revenue in just its first month! The game's rogue-like style synergies make for some of the most satisfying attacks in any turn-based game, hooking even those who are typically turned off by card games! The game is just incredibly well-balanced.

However, although every card can be effective, not all cards are created equal! Some cards, especially in pool 1, are just blatantly more powerful than others! But with such a massive pool of starter cards, knowing which ones to slide into your deck can be daunting. Luckily, this list is here to help. Here are the 10 best cards in pool 1 for Marvel Snap.

10 America Chavez

marvel-snap-captain-marvel

America Chavez is a 6-cost card that is worth a whopping 9 power. Granted, there are certainly cards that have higher power levels for the same price, but America Chavez's unique ability is what makes the card so darn enticing! America Chavez is always drawn on turn 6, and not before.

What this means is that you won't have pesky 6 cost cards wasting space in your hand during the first five turns. Plus, since most players choose to only have one or two 6-cost cards per deck, it definitely doesn't hurt to be able to know for certain that you will actually draw your highest level card anyway!

9 Enchantress

Marvel-Snap-Enchantress

This is perhaps the only card on this entire list that isn't very beginner-friendly. Properly utilizing the enchantress requires a deep knowledge of how the game typically works in the last couple of turns and forces the player to weigh their options in a way that no other card does.

That being said, players who learn how to use her to their advantage will easily cripple their opponents. Building a deck that revolves around ongoing abilities is a highly popular strategy, especially among intermediate-level players. If this happens to be the case with your opponent, slap down your Enchantress and watch them retreat!

8 Nightcrawler

marvel-nightcrawler-explosion

Nightcrawler is an immensely effective 1-cost card that is unlocked pretty early on in the game. While his damage is nothing special, he has the On Reveal ability to move anywhere on the board once per game. Because of the way location effects are activated in Marvel Snap, Nightcrawler can effectively relocate to most locations without actually activating the effect of that location.

This may not seem like anything to bat an eye at, but when paired with the proper cards, it is a literal game-changer. Another great aspect of Nightcrawler is that he can be safely placed on blind locations, and moved away after the reveal if necessary. So, while not the definitive best, Nightcrawler definitely deserves a spot on this list!

7 Mister Fantastic

Mister Fantastic is another low-cost card that makes a big impact on the early game. If played in the center location, Mister Fantastic's Ongoing ability can ensure a minimum of two power in every location in the game! Of course, this isn't going to win any games on its own, so it's important to know what to pair him with.

The best cards to pair with Mister Fantastic are those that can either guard or magnify his effects, since losing Ongoing abilities can have drastic effects! Armor, for example, will make all cards in the same location invincible! Pair that up with other Ongoing effects, and you are set for a certain victory.

6 White Tiger

White-Tiger-marvel-reach

White Tiger is an exceptionally powerful card with a single unfortunate drawback: the inability to decide which location her tiger goes to. White Tiger herself is only worth one point, but her tiger on the other hand will go to another random location with a whopping 7-Power! This combo of cards allows for some very high-level plays.

If you are smart with your moves, you can have somewhat of a say in where White Tiger's ability lands, but it's a difficult task. Especially since you have to make it a priority at the very start of the game. If it wasn't for the excessive amount of luck associated with this card, it would certainly be higher up on this list.

5 Jessica Jones

Jessica-Jones-Marvel-Comics

For a 4-Cost card, Jessica has the potential to reach a remarkable 8-Power! That is more than most 5-Cost cards. In order to reach max efficiency with the card, all you need to do is not play a card in the same location as her for a single turn. Sounds easy, right?

In classic Marvel Snap fashion, the unexpected will sometimes happen. If you are forced to play in Jessica Jones' location immediately after her, don't worry too much, as 4 power is still workable. Although, as long as you carefully plan ahead, this shouldn't be too common of an occurrence.

4 Ant-Man

marvel-ant-man-finger

Ant-Man is almost assuredly the most powerful 1-Cost card in Pool 1, as it can be worth up to 4-Power! On top of that, its ongoing ability doesn't require any luck on the player's part, while not also relying on the moves of their opponent. Ant-Man should definitely be in the deck of all players as their main 1-Cost card.

This card pairs most effectively with other low-cost cards, and can even take advantage of location events that fill locations with rocks or other monsters! Without a doubt, the Ant-Man card is as powerful as he is iconic.

3 Ka-Zar

marvel-kazar-attacking

For those who run a deck composed largely of 1-Cost cards, Ka-Zar is an absolute must. His Ongoing ability gives +1 power to every 1-Cost card in play, which gives him some absolutely wild synergy potential! It seems obvious, but players who include Ka-Zar in their deck should use all of their 1-Costs in the same deck!

If you still aren't convinced, just remember that many high-level players build an entire deck exclusively around Ka-Zar. And, just like Ant-Man, this is a potentially very powerful card that does not require luck of the draw! Just as a quick tip: Ant-Man and Ka-Zar are a match made in heaven.

2 Iron Man

Iron-Man-marvel-comic

Don't lie, you knew he was going to be here. Iron Man is a truly phenomenal card, benefiting every deck and player type from beginner to expert! Costing 5 Points, Iron Man has an ongoing ability that literally doubles the total power of a location.

Iron Man has the capability to drastically change the tide of a game, trading out certain doom for a crushing victory! If luck happens to be in your favor, you can get a location or other card that duplicates or reactivates Iron Man's ability, essentially guaranteeing your win.

1 Odin

Odin-Marvel-Comic

A card as powerful as the God, Odin is a complete and utter powerhouse. If cards could cost 7-Points, you can bet your bottom dollar that Odin would cost it! Odin's On Reveal ability reactivates the On Reveal abilities of every card at his location. Yes, you read that right!

There is perhaps no other card that can create combos as overpowered as Odin! Even just his high power level of 8 is impressive! So, unless you literally don't have any other On Reveal-type cards in your deck, Odin is the greatest card in Pool 1 of Marvel Snap! And, as far as card games go, putting him in your deck is the best decision you'll ever make.
