Marvel’s Spider-Man’s Japanese TV Commercial Is Inevitably Awesome

Marvel's Spider-Man got a brand new TV commercial for Japan and it's suitably Japanese, which means that it's brief but obviously awesome.

The Japanese arm of Sony Interactive Entertainment really knows how to make good trailers and commercials. That’s why it’s not surprising that the one they made for Marvel’s Spider-Man by Insomniac Games is no exception, and merges action, music, and gutsy Japanese narration in a way that feels just right

While it’s pretty brief (after all it’s a TV commercial, and those either last 15 or 30 seconds), it’s definitely intense. Yet, this time we don’t get local PlayStation Face Takayuki Yamada, and I kind of miss him. Maybe we’ll see him in dressed like Spider-Man closer to launch.

You can check out the trailer below. If you want to learn more about the game, you should read my hands-on preview and my impressions on the awesome swinging mechanics. We also have comments from Creative Director Bryan Intihar on the possibility of a sequel, Mary Jane, and the Avengers.

You can also watch the western “launch” traileranother focusing on the open world, take a look at our video showing the Marvel’s Spider-Man “hype train” that is currently running in Manhattan, and at some recently-revealed images featuring the villains.

The game launches on September 7th exclusively for PS4. You can already pre-order it on Amazon.
