Earlier this week, the folks over at ResetEra began predicting that both Marvel Ultimate Alliance games would soon be delisted on digital stores due to Activision's licenses expiring.

Well, that turned out to be completely accurate and now both Marvel Ultimate Alliance 1 and 2 have been wiped off of Steam, the PlayStation Store, and the Xbox Marketplace two years to the date after arriving on each current gen platform. If you were privy to this happening before both games were deleted, you could have snagged each title on Steam for a discounted price. If not, well, then I hope you own the games physically on PS3 or Xbox 360.

This isn't the first time that this has happened with digital versions of some of Activision's games, either. Deadpool has also been delisted in the past but eventually made its return. Maybe the same could happen to the Ultimate Alliance games as well but I wouldn't get my hopes up.

Personally, I loved both Marvel Ultimate Alliance games and its a shame we never got more in the series. Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 tackled the Civil War storyline in a pretty unique way. I would have loved to have seen more classic Marvel storylines recreated in video game form as well.

Who knows, maybe that new Avengers game that Square Enix is publishing will scratch this same itch for me whenever it comes out.
