This Friday, August 30, Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order will patch in some new DLC. First, Cyclops and Colossus will become playable heroes. Second, Spider-Man, the Hulk, and Captain Marvel will receive alternative costumes. The best part? You'll pay nothing for any of it. All of this content will be completely free for those who already own the game.
Marvel has provided some very brief footage of Colossus and Cyclops in action via their YouTube channel. You can check it out below--the relevant footage starts at 1:20.
Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3's not-so-secret weapon is its huge cast of playable heroes, and it's great that the developers are finding ways to continue to broaden the roster. In addition to Cyclops and Colossus, you'll soon be able to play as Moon Knight, Morbius, Blade, and the Punisher. The Fantastic Four will eventually make their way into the game as well. Unfortunately, only Cyclops and Colossus and the new costumes will be free. In order to access the rest of Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3's upcoming content, you'll need to pay. An expansion pass, which grants access to all of the game's future content, is currently available for $19.99.
The free costumes that are arriving on Friday are all good ones. Spider-Man's "Symbiote Suit" (re: black suit) is sharp, and the Hulk looks especially brutal in his "Planet Hulk" garb. Captain Marvel's "Ms. Marvel" black is arguably her most iconic look, so it's nice to see it in the game as well. All of the new costumes are featured in the image below--let us know what you think.
