Marvel vs Capcom DLC Characters and Release Date Announced

No don’t worry, we’re not reposting yesterday’s news regarding the addition of She-Hulk and Zero. Capcom has released a lot of information today, the first of which is the Collector’s Edition of the game, including the announcement of the first DLC characters and much more information! First things first; Marvel vs Capcom 3 will be released on February 15, 2011!

As we have come to expect of every single game released these days, Marvel vs Capcom 3 will have a collector’s edition. The contents appear to actually contain some interesting stuff! If you decide to grab the special version, it will include;

  • Steelbook case featuring exclusive art
  • A 12 Page Comic / Art Book written by Frank Tieri, plus campaign art and some fan art
  • 1 Month Subscription to Marvel’s Digital Comics Service
  • 2 Playable DLC characters (available 4 weeks after launch)

Oh yeah. The DLC characters.

That’s right kids! Representing Capcom will be Jill Valentine in her Resident Evil 5 costume, and for the Marvel side we’ve got Shuma Gorath, who was a strange choice in his first appearance and remains one to this day. An awesome character, but VERY obscure.

Of course just because we’re getting DLC character announcements doesn’t mean the character list is done yet, so I’m still holding out hope for Squirrel Girl.
