While 2020 still seems so far away, we already have high anticipation for one of next year's biggest releases in the form of Marvel's Avengers. Though we finally got our first glimpse of the game at E3 2019, Square Enix seems to be building up to the game's May release with a closer look at Earth's Mightiest Heroes.

Following its big gameplay reveal at Gamescom 2019, Square Enix has released the first of several character profile videos for each of the playable Avengers, starting with the one-and-only Captain America, (appropriately) the First Avenger. Presumably, we'll get more videos down the line giving us a look at each of the game's starting Avengers, which (so far) includes Captain America, Hulk, Iron Man, Thor, and Black Widow.

While the video itself is under a minute long, we at least get an up-close look at the character model for Cap in greater detail, giving us a better look at his signature stars-and-stripes armor and his iconic shield. Along with the closer look at his character model, the video also includes a few brief snippets of gameplay with Cap in action as he fights off baddies, presumably of the Hydra kind.

I just secretly hope that we'll get the option to unlock Captain America's best outfit from the excellent cartoon, back in the good old days.

Marvel's Avengers will release for PS4, Xbox One, PC on May 15, 2020, and will also arrive for Google Stadia down the line. You can pre-order the game now over on Amazon. In the meantime, you can check out the new character profile video featuring Steve Rogers/Captain America below:
