Fortnite Adds Hulk Hands In Latest Avengers Crossover
Fortnite gets these hands in latest Avengers crossover.
Square Enix held their most recent round table event for Marvel’s Avengers this afternoon and revealed fan-favourite Hawkeye will be the first of four characters coming to the game sometime after launch. Following this, Epic also revealed some news regarding their latest crossover between Fortnite and Marvel’s band of superheroes.
Revealed in a blog post on the Fortnite Website, the crossover allows players of the Marvel’s Avengers Beta to unlock the Hulk Smashers Pickaxe and bonus Hulkbuster style.
The two cosmetics will be very familiar to Marvel fans. They include both Hulk’s giant green fists and the fists from the Hulkbuster suit, which was first seen in Avengers: Age of Ultron. To unlock the items players will need to complete the three HARM Challenges in either the PlayStation 4 or Xbox One Beta.
Players will have to complete the challenges, and have their Epic and Square Enix accounts linked, during the following beta windows:
- August 7-9: PlayStation 4 Pre-Order Beta
- August 14-16: PlayStation 4 Open Beta
- August 14-16: Xbox One Pre-Order Beta
- August 21-23: Open Beta on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One
While the items are only unlockable during these windows, Epic reassures fans that they’ll “be making the Hulk Smashers Pickaxe and bonus Hulkbuster style available in the Item Shop at a later date”. Currently the Pickaxes are unlockable on the PS4 and Xbox One and there’s no word on whether they’ll be coming to the Nintendo Switch or PC versions of the game at a later date.
This isn’t the first time the two mega-franchises have collided with multiple Marvel characters appearing as skins in Fortnite over the years. The crossovers have included Guardians of the Galaxy, Thanos from Avengers Endgame and most recently Captain America as an Independence Day celebration.
Marvel’s Avengers is starting to really take shape now ahead of launch on September 4. The game is available on PC, PS4, Stadia and Xbox One and will be coming to both PS5 and Xbox Series X in the future.
