Shang-Chi Sequel Will Be Created By The Same Director

Disney has also confirmed that Destin Daniel Cretton will be returning once again to direct and write Shang Chi 2. So we can definitely expect him to recreate the magic once again.

Actor Simu Liu who starred in the movie also confirmed that we are getting the sequel.

In a statement given to Deadline, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige praised Cretton for the unique perspective he bought to Shang-Chi and The Legend of the Ten Rings. "So we're thrilled to expand our relationship with him and can’t wait to get started," said Feige.

Other Marvel and Disney+ Projects In Work

Apparently, Cretton has signed a deal with Marvel Studios and Hulu’s Onyx Collective under which he will be directing Shang Chi 2. He will also be involved in the development of a Marvel series for Disney Plus.

After Shang-Chi, Cretton had already begun working with Disney+ on an adaptation of a 2006 graphic novel written by Gene Luen Yang. The novel titled American Born Chinese follows the life of a teenager who gets involved in a battle of Chinese mythological gods. Cretton will direct and executive produce this movie.

So there are more good projects in the works that we can look forward to!
