One of the developers at Insomniac Games has seemingly teased an innovation that fans can expect in Marvel's Spider-Man 2 and Wolverine games, which will improve the dialogue system in some way.

During a recent live stream on Twitch, Elan Ruskin, lead programmer at Insomniac Games, revealed that both Marvel's Spider-Man 2 and Wolverine will feature a new "very cool" dialogue technology. Unfortunately, the developer did not go into much detail on this mysterious innovation. It is currently unknown what this technology actually does and how it will improve the gameplay experience. After a few small teases from the developer, fans have speculated that it could be an AI for more meaningful NPC dialogues, which makes sense given that there are a number of story characters with whom Spider-Man interacts.

This mysterious feature has fans excited, with one speculating that it will be an AI that will be used to point players anywhere on the map. Some have also speculated it will be some sort of AI-generated script or dialogue for NPC's to make the game's open world feel more immersive.

It is safe to assume that Insomniac Games will show this technology off during the upcoming PlayStation showcase, which will reportedly take place sometime before E3 in June. Sony will likely reveal its most exciting developments at the event, including its first-party projects. According to Jeff Grubb, this rumored PlayStation event was originally set to happen during the final quarter of last year, but Sony had to push it back because first-party studios were not ready to show what they have in store for fans.

Marvel's Spider-Man 2 will feature the fan-favorite anti-heroes Venom and Kraven, while Miles Morales and Peter Parker, main characters from the last two Spider-Man games, will return to protect innocent lives. The game has a proper release window, with Insomniac Games saying it will be available in fall 2023. The studio's other superhero game, Wolverine, is reportedly targeting a fall 2024 release.
