Marvel’s Spider-Man Glitch is Reminiscent of Iconic Scene from Into the Spider-Verse

What's up, danger?

Have you seen Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse? You should if you haven’t yet. It’s pretty great.

If you have seen the film though, you’re probably familiar with one of the more popular scenes that happens near the film’s end where Miles Morales takes his “leap of faith” off of a skyscraper in New York City. The scene plays out with the song What’s Up Danger playing in the background as Miles soars downward into the city. The way the scene is shown though, it instead looks like he’s soaring upward in the frame rather than plummeting.

You can see the scene right here if you haven’t already.

Anyway, turns out that this exact scene can be recreated in Marvel’s Spider-Man on PS4. Well, sort of, at least, thanks to a strange glitch.

As was shared on Reddit by user tjk100, a recent glitch that occurred for this player during a session of Marvel’s Spider-Man made for a reminiscent callback to Into the Spider-Verse. Upon diving off of a building in the game, this player’s version of Spider-Man ended up clipping through the ground rather than landing safely upon it. What happened next looked very similar to the iconic shot from Into the Spider-Verse.

You can see what happened in this GIF:

As you can see, once Spider-Man ends up glitching through the bottom of the pavement, he ended up continuing to dive into nothingness for a few moments. While this happened though, you can still see New York City above the character. Even though it’s not spot-on, it really does look a bit similar to the same image of Miles diving into the city that you can see at the top of this article.

This is likely a one-in-a-million kind of accident on the player’s part, so I doubt you’ll be able to replicate it in your own game. That being said, other players have previously discovered how to access part of the map of Marvel’s Spider-Man in the past in some unique ways. You can see some of those techniques here if you’re interested.

Marvel’s Spider-Man is out now on PS4 if you want to try and recreate this unusual moment for yourself.
