As the only major PS5 title that we previously knew was scheduled to release this year, it stood to reason that Sony and Insomniac Games would have a whole lot to show of Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales during today's PlayStation 5 Showcase. It turns out, those expectations were spot-on.

As the second title shown during the presentation, Insomniac Games highlighted a lengthy demo for Miles Morales that gave us a better idea as to how the game will differentiate itself from its predecessor. After opening with a few cutscenes that set the stage for the game's narrative, the gameplay footage in question showed off Miles taking on a variety of enemies that work with The Tinkerer on board a bridge.

The most notable new aspects that Spider-Man: Miles Morales seems to offer up involves Miles' different powers. Compared to Peter Parker, Miles can turn invisible to get the jump on enemies and also can utilize his ability known as the Venom Strike to dispatch opponents. The environments themselves also look way more detailed than the previous game. All in all, there's a lot to like here.

Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales still doesn't have a specific launch date, but it's still slated to release on PS5 later this year. You can check out all of the new gameplay in action down below.
