Back when Marvel's Spider-Man launched in 2018, Marvel released a novel and an art book that each offered more insight into the world that Insomniac Games has created. I actually checked out both of these at the time and they were each pretty darn good. Now, ahead of the release of Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales next month, Marvel has announced that it's moving forward with a nearly identical plan for the next entry in this franchise.

Detailed on Marvel's site today, a new novel titled Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales - Wings of Fury will be released in the lead up to the game's launch. The book will once again serve as a prequel to the events that take place in the game and will offer more insight into Miles' journey to becoming Spider-Man. The novel is written by Britney Morris and is said to feature Miles squaring off with the classic Spidey villain, Vulture.

For those who prefer their books to have more pictures than words, well, Marvel's got you covered there are well. Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales - The Art of the Game will be released next February and will feature a litany of pieces of concept art that Insomniac Games put together when working on the title. While we haven't seen many of the pieces of art that will be featured in the book, the front cover does show off Miles in action taking down some thugs while wearing a suit that resembles what he donned in the film Into the Spider-Verse. We haven't seen if this actual costume will be in the game in any previously released footage, but it now seems like there's a good chance that we'll see him wear this attire at some point.

All in all, both of these tie-in books sound interesting in their own way. As said before, if they end up matching the quality that was found in the novel and art book that Marvel released for the last game, then these should be worthy purchases for hardcore fans.

As for Spider-Man: Miles Morales itself, the game is set to drop alongside the PS5 on November 12.
