Idea Factory International released new information on their upcoming dungeon crawling RPG Mary Skelter: Nightmares, coming to PlayStation Vita inn Septemeber 19 in North America and September 22 in Europe.

The new details cover the unique battle system featured in Mary Skelter: Nightmares. During battle, players will be able to execute special modes called "Massacre Mode" and "Blood Skelter Mode".

Evidently, during battle players will notice two meters for each of their party member or "Blood Maidens", Blood Meter and Corruption Meter. When players unleash enough damage to overkill an enemy, blood will splatter on the girls and subsequently fill up their Blood Meter. Once this meter is full she'll enter Massacre mode, which strengthens her power during battle.

On the other hands, if the player takes massive amounts of damage to the party and or a member is killed, the Corruption Meter will begin to fill up. A full Corruption Meter causes the Blood Maiden to lose control and enter Blood Skelter mode. Basically this is an all out berserk mode, where she will indiscriminately attack enemies and allies. Only Jack can stop these waves of attacks with his "Mary Gun"

Idea Factory International adds that "strategically balancing Massacre mode, Blood Skelter mode, and watching the meters is the key to victory".

Additionally, the publisher released new characters highlights:

Thumbelina - The oldest of the three Blood Maiden sisters. She pushes Jack around and is so prideful that she can't even compliment him.

Snow White - The second oldest of the three sisters. She has a gentle personality and is kind to Jack. Despite her best intentions, she ends up complicating things. She's afraid of looking into mirrors.

Sleeping Beauty - The youngest of the three sisters. She's comforting to Jack when he feels down. She's almost always sleepy, so she expresses most opinions with a simple nod or by shaking her head.

Kaguya - A lazy Blood Maiden who spends most of her time in her room. She uses her special ride, Bamboo 1, to move around or to fight. It takes
