Since Dragon Age Inquisition, BioWare has been in the wrong track by delivering games that have been obviously far away from the standards of the studio. Mass Effect Andromeda was an unexpected failure and Anthem didn't live up to its potentials. Now, with Mass Effect Legendary Edition, the studio might make us forget about the bad memories. The remaster of the Mass Effect trilogy launches on May 14 this year.Officially revealed with a brand new trailer, Mass Effect Legendary Edition is going to feature all the base games of the trilogy along with all of the post-launch expansions that they had received. The remastered trilogy will support 4K resolution and HDR feature. The overall performance sees significant improvement with new models, new shaders, new lighting, and new FX and DOF. Weapons, Mako control, and customization system have all received quality-of-life upgrades.

The original Mass Effect game has the biggest share of visual enhancements with new high-quality textures. As you can see in the comparison image below, the original version is now more in line with the next installments of the franchise, visually. The content of the games will see some useful updates as Mass Effect 3's female Captain Shepard will be available on Mass Effect 1 and Mass Effect 2 as well. Thanks to the game's upgraded hair, makeup, eye color and skin tones, you can create your own character with more options now if you don't want to play as the default Shepard.
