Piranha Games brings us another new trailer for the upcoming PC release MechWarrior 5: Mercenaries that showcases the environments of the game. Announced back in 2016, the game is slated to release in 2018 and will be a single-player, first-person standalone game that will hopefully scratch that mecha-genre itch. The game has already been confirmed for both mod-support and co-op capabilities.

The trailer showcases environments that range from dusty, storm-filled deserts and canyons to fog-filled forests and everything in between. We are also able to see destruction in the environment as the mechas deal damage to each other and their surroundings; buildings are set ablaze and crumble into dust with each hit. In some instances, we are able to see the destruction from inside the cockpit of the mechas, and the lumbering machines look and feel as if they have a satisfying weight to them.

MechWarrior 5: Mercenaries has a tentative release date of late 2018 for the PC and will take a decidedly PvE approach to gameplay when compared to its PvP-centric sibling, MechWarrior Online. Look forward to further details as they emerge.
