Today during the PlayStation Experience opening presentation, Sony Interactive Entertainment announced the return of MediEvil.

Not much was shared beside the fact that it will come as a remaster for PS4 in 4K. Sony defines it "a proper, PS4-grade resurrection," so that's certainly promising.

The MediEvil series debuted on October 1st, 1998, and received two more games, MediEvil 2 in 2000, and MediEvil Resurrection in 2005, making the jump to portable on PSP. Apparently, that tended to kill franchises back in the day.

Since then, we heard basically nothing about the IP (besides a false rumor a few years ago, and a Skyrim mod), and all we got was a PSN re-release on PS3 in 2009 and the presence of Sir Daniel in PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale. So it was about time for Sir Daniel Fortesque to jump right back under the spotlight, and that's exactly what happened tonight. Thank Goodness.

You can check out the trailer below. It's brief, but it's certainly better than nothing.
