Are you looking at your 2018 year-end list and upset that you didn’t play more games? Sadly glancing at your sealed copy of Octopath TravelerDecided to push your first Persona 5 playthrough to 2019? Questioning why you put so many hours into Skyrim (again!) and didn’t even touch  Return of the Obra Dinn Don’t worry– it happens to the best of us. Lucky for all of us, Meditations, a new game launcher, looks to broaden your gaming palette by letting you play a new game every day in 2019.

Created by Vlambeer’s Rami Ismail, Meditations promises to load users a pithy new game alongside a text meditation every day. Including platformers, puzzle games, and more experimental titles, Meditations includes games by over 350 unique game developers. Looking to provide players with a “meditation, distraction, lesson, or inspiration,” each game on the launcher will take less than five minutes to complete and will not contain any text of its own.

Announced through Ismail’s Twitter account, Ismail states that he was inspired to create the service after playing the puzzle game TEMPRES back in 2017. “One morning in 2017, I played a short game that made me wish I had a new tiny game like it for every day of the year,” Ismail tweeted. Keeping this inspiration close to heart, TEMPRES will be the first game available on Meditations, going live on the launcher tomorrow, January 1st.

Ismail himself is no stranger to game design. Operating as one half of Vlambeer, Ismail has worked on titles like Nuclear Throne, Ridiculous Fishing, and GUN GODZ.

You can check out Meditations’ website here. The launcher is available on Windows and Mac OSX.
