Today, some new Uncharted: The Lost Legacy details have emerged thanks to the latest issue of Game Informer, which features the game as its cover story. Specifically, new details on the game’s antagonist, Asav, have been provided.
The Lost Legacy will star Asav as the antagonist. Asav is described as “a barrel-chested insurgent rebel leader who formerly worked for the government.” He’s said to be unearthing treasures, murals, and artifacts that are culturally significant to the region, and has several reasons behind his actions.
According to Creative Director Shaun Escayg, Asav “has a history with the government,” and “feels left out in solving the conflicts the government solved at one point and he’s now a lone rebel trying to create war and profit from it.”
Asav is said to believe in his cause, but as Naughty Dog always says, this is a world of thieves where everyone is looking out for themselves. The result is some morally grey characters.
Additionally, it has been revealed that Nadine and Asav know each other, as she has worked with him in the past.
Uncharted: The Lost Legacy is set to be the first ever standalone release in history of the Uncharted series and will be Naughty Dog’s most substantial story expansion to date. It will be available as a standalone PS4 game on store shelves, as well as for digital download. If you already purchased the Uncharted 4 Digital Deluxe Edition or the Explorer’s Pack, you will automatically receive the expansion at launch.
