Meet Your Maker, the upcoming asymmetric multiplayer game from the creators of Dead by Daylight, Behavior Interactive, is set to launch on April 4, and PlayStation has just revealed that the game will be immediately available at no additional cost for PlayStation Plus subscribers.

In a recent post on the PlayStation Blog, it confirmed that Meet Your Maker would be part of the April 2023 PlayStation Plus Monthly Games lineup. Though no exact tier was specified, this presumably means that it will be part of the monthly games that are available to PlayStation Plus Essential subscribers, meaning all subs will get a month to claim this game, after which it will always be playable as long as your subscription is active.

Behavior Interactive is known for its asymmetric gameplay with Dead by Daylight, but Meet Your Maker is set to offer a very different experience. The players will be divided into Raiders and Builders. Raiders engage in first-person action gameplay as they break into a treacherous outpost with traps and enemies around every corner, attempting to steal the 'Genmat' (genetic material) at its core.

Builders, of course, build said outposts. As this recent blog post explains, their only true requirement is to create an accessible path to the Genmat for the Raiders. Barring that, they can make the trajectory as dangerous as possible.

Builders can create confusing winding paths, select the placement and trajectory of enemies, and fill the terrain with deadly traps. You can even control when traps trigger or make them activate only after the Raiders grab the Genmat (as they must escape with it as well).

PlayStation is clearly looking to employ strategies that further bolster the value of PlayStation Plus, likely not unrelated to the success of Xbox's acclaimed Game Pass service. Last year, they restructured PS Plus to include two higher tiers that feature a huge list of downloadable games.

On occasion, PS Plus also includes day 1 launches, though always of second and third-party games, never its first-party exclusives. One of the bigger examples was the day 1 release of Stray, the cat-simulator cyberpunk adventure that won Best Indie game and Best Debut Indie game at the 2022 Game Awards.

Meet Your Maker launches on April 4 for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
