We haven't heard much of Mega Man 11 since it was announced back in December. Capcom changed that today by dropping a ton of new information about the game, releasing a new trailer, and revealing that it will be launching on October 2.

The story of Mega Man 11 follows Dr. Light and Mega Man as they try to stop Dr. Wily, who has begun to invest in an evil idea he conceived while at Robot University. In order to take him on, Dr. Light installs a new Double Gear system in Mega Man, which allows him to do things like slow down time and overcharge his Mega Buster. Mega Man will also be able to activate both at the same time when at critical health.

While these new features do spice things up, Mega Man 11 still seems to retain the classic mechanics that helped define the series at its core. This trailer also reveals two new Robot Masters, Block Man and Fuse Man, which can both be taken care of easier with the Double Gear powers.

Mega Man 11 will be playable at E3 this year alongside Mega Man X Legacy Collection 1 + 2, and that will be the first time the public gets their hands on the game. In other Mega Man news, we recently got a first look at the upcoming TV show Mega Man: Fully Charged, which features an interesting redesign for th titular character.
