MegaTagmension Blanc + Neptune VS Zombies Launches on PSN Today, Two Weeks Early

Update: Looks like Sony reacted by pulling the game entirely — users can not only not purchase the game, but no trace of it exists on the PlayStation Store.

It seems there is mass-confusion behind the scenes at Sony, with Idea Factory’s MegaTagmension Blanc + Neptune VS Zombies launching two weeks ahead of schedule. In PlayStation Blog’s weekly post showcasing all upcoming games to the PlayStation Store, they had originally mentioned MegaTagmension would be coming out today — April 26.

This news garnered skeptical commentors to question whether this is true — some tried to correct Sony, noting the game has recently been delayed until May 10th (which corresponds to press materials and the game’s website). Meanwhile, other readers posited that perhaps there is a bifurcated release with the digital version releasing early.

The question was quickly answered, with PlayStation’s post being updated saying the correct date should be May 10th:

Yet, despite this seemingly definitive answer from PlayStation, the game has went live on the North American PlayStation store, at the price of $39.99. It is unclear whether Sony intends to remove the game, so hopeful buyers would be prudent to rush the purchase.
