Today developer Pixelvex announced that its game Metagalactic Blitz will be entering Steam’s Early Access program next week, on May 19th, 2017.
The studio claims that while the game is launching on the Early Access program, most of the features in full version will be available in the Early Access version as well. You can find a full list of features below:
- Nine characters
- Three playable maps
- Four person local multiplayer
- 1v1 ranked multiplayer
Pixelvex stated that the reason for early access was so that the developer can polish the online experience, as well as create new maps for the official release, and gauge player feedback.
You can find a full description of the game, straight from the developer, below:
“This is a physics-based fighting game that focuses on ranged combat. There are nine playable characters in the game that share the mechanics of throwing, reflecting, and catching dodgeballs. Each character also has a unique set of special attacks that are fueled by picking up balls. The game revolves around strategically using your offensive and defensive mechanics to overpower your opponent and knock them off the side.”
As of the time of this writing, it is unknown exactly when Metagalactic Blitz will officially launch, however, according to the games Steam page, the game will be a part of the Early Access program for at least six months. Metagalactic Blitz will launch exclusively on Windows PC.
