During its livestream event for Call of Duty: Black Ops III Zombies Chronicles, developer Treyarch announced that the art of legendary Metal Gear character artist Yoji Shinkawa will be featured in the upcoming Zombies Chronicles DLC.

During the livestream, Treyarch provided four posters (viewable in the gallery below) created by Shinkawa-san, showcasing the mode’s cast of main characters: Tank Dempsey, Nikolai Belinski, Takeo Masaki, and Edward Richtofen. Additionally, it was revealed that by pre-ordering the DLC for PlayStation 4, you can receive a dynamic theme, which cycles through the art by Shinkawa-san.

On top of that, on May 12, Treyarch will be holding a special event for multiplayer and zombies modes of Call of Duty: Black Ops III across all consoles. By performing certain numbers of in-game headshots, players will be unable to unlock calling cards that feature two of Shinkawa-san’s classic character designs, an animated calling card featuring all four, and a special gun camo.

About the partnership with Shinkawa-san, Treyarch’s Co-Studio Head Jason Blundell had this to say:

“We were very fortunate to be able to get into contact with Yoji Shinkawa, most known for the Metal Gear series. I was a huge fan and still am a huge fan of the Metal Gear series, so to be able to work with him and have him realize our main characters in his very unique and distinctive style was an opportunity I couldn’t really pass up.”

Call of Duty: Black Ops III Zombies Chronicles DLC releases on May 16 for PlayStation 4. On June 16, the DLC will release for Xbox One and PC. For more information on the upcoming DLC, check out our breakdown of the price and included content.
