Metal Gear Solid 1 and 2 PC Ports Have Appeared on Ratings Website
Metal Gear Solid seems to be making a return on PC after all if some new listings from Taiwan are to be believed.
It was only yesterday that we began hearing rumors that new PC ports for the first two installments in the Metal Gear Solid series could be coming about sometime soon. Well, less than a day later and some pretty substantial information has now come about that might back up these claims.
Spotted by Gematsu, ratings for new PC releases of Metal Gear Solid and Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty have now popped up on the Taiwan Digital Game Rating Committee’s website. Additional Konami titles including the original Metal Gear and the Castlevania and Contra Collector’s Series bundles have also been rated for PC as well in the region. No further information such as a release window has been given for any of the aforementioned games, but it definitely backs up what we had heard yesterday.
While I would normally express caution with any rumors of this kind, the fact that MGS and MGS2 have no appeared on a ratings site seems pretty legitimate. Even though games being rated like this are never a surefire way to know that they’re due to be released, the track record for unannounced games eventually seeing the light of day after popping up on a ratings page is pretty high.
With this in mind, it would make sense for us to hear something from Konami about all of these titles sooner rather than later. We’ll keep our eyes and ears open in the coming weeks and months and will be sure to let you know if there are any further developments with this story.
