There are few who would dispute that much of the art in the Metal Gear Solid series is absolutely phenomenal, thanks largely to the work done by Yoji Shinkawa. His collections of art have been available to purchase in multiple volumes for some time. However, they were only available in Japanese. Now, Dark Horse Comics is publishing a two-book set of Shinkawa-san's work in the Metal Gear universe.

This definitive collection of Yoji Shinkawa's work contains 800 pages of concept and key art for characters, weapons, and vehicles from Metal Gear Solid, Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of the Patriots, Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots, and Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker.

Although Dark Horse Comics' version of The Art of Metal Gear Solid I-IV has been translated into English, it's important to note that the Japanese handwriting on the images included have been left intact.

The Art of Metal Gear Solid I-IV is currently available for pre-order through Amazon for $79.99. The collection is projected to be shipped on May 8, 2018.

Earlier this year, Yoji Shinkawa was featured as a character artist for Call of Duty: Black Ops III's Zombies Chronicles DLC. Four of his posters were promoted within a PlayStation 4 theme as incentive for pre-ordering the digital content.
