As the 'framerate/resolution wars' of the now current-gen consoles is rages on, PC fans have learned today that a popular port heading their way is getting its frame rate restricted.

On the Steam forums today, the development team working on the port of Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes confirmed that the frame rate of the game will indeed be capped at 60FPS. The news is a little unfortunate, continuing a trend of frame rate capping that we've seen in other titles like The Evil Within.

Hello all,

I hope you saw today's announcement, please feel free to share the info-graphic linked within to get the word out past these forums.

Controller/Keyboard & Mouse Control Options

I've relayed your feedback and received confirmation from the team on a couple of other items for the December release of MGSV:GZ.

- Unfortunately, Dual Shock 3 and Dual Shock 4 controllers, while supported, will not have proprietary input displays in the UI. The controller inputs rather follow the displays common to Xbox Controllers.

- The FPS is locked at 60 for MGSV:GZ.

I'm continuing to clarify some points and will get back to you with more info soon!

As someone that considers himself a PC first player, personally it's a little disappointing to hear and tampers my expectations of the ports quality a little bit. Let me know what you think of this news in the comments below. Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes touches down on PC this winter on December 18th.
