Kadokawa Games announced a delay for the Japanese release date of Metal Max Xeno Reborn. The remake was moved from March 26 to July 9, 2020. In a message on the game's official site, Kadokawa Games apologized to fans and all parties involved with the game's production. Kadokawa Games explained the delay: Metal Max Xeno Reborn is fully playable and in its final stages of development but some extra time is needed to improve the game's quality even more and offer an experience that will definitely satisfy everyone.

Producer Juntaro Kouno apologized on Twitter too, asking fans to please wait a little longer and promising the game will be awesome.

Metal Max Xeno Reborn is the first project celebrating the upcoming 30th anniversary of the Metal Max series in 2021. The first Metal Max game was an open-world tank battle game released on Famicom in 1991, co-developed by Crea-Tech and Data East. Metal Max Xeno Reborn, coming to PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch, is a remake of 2018 released Metal Max Xeno.

Metal Max Xeno Reborn 2 is also currently in development and planned for 2020 on PS4, and Switch. A third game tentatively named Code Zero is also in development. You can read more about that here.

You can check out the game's screenshots and Limited Edition details here. We also have a gameplay trailer and comments from Producer Juntaro Kouno we translated. The original Metal Max Xeno did come over, so Xeno Reborn will definitely release outside Japan at some point as Kadokawa Games always bring their games worldwide. No western release was officially announced yet though.
