After months of teasing, on October 1, Kadokawa Games held an event for the Metal Max franchise, titled the "Metal Max 2021 Road to 30th Anniversary Kick Off". Multiple new Metal Max games were revealed there.

First off, Metal Max Xeno Reborn was announced for PS4 and Switch. It'll launch this winter in Japan. This announcement was also made in this week's Famitsu magazine, which previewed the screenshots above. More details on the game will be available when Famitsu releases on Wednesday.

What we know for now is that Metal Max Xeno Reborn is a new version of Metal Max Xeno released in 2018, with more realistic graphics instead of an anime style, more realistic monsters' behaviors, and physics. The game will also have enough new content to be satisfying for those who already played the original. Metal Max Xeno Reborn will also feature the dog Pochi fighting alongside the protagonist.

Next, Kadokawa Games also revealed a sequel is also in development, titled Metal Max Xeno Reborn 2, scheduled to launch in 2020. Metal Max Xeno Reborn 2 is also coming to PS4 and Switch.

Lastly, for the Metal Max franchise's 20th anniversary, another brand new game is in the works, and is tentatively named Code Zero. This "Code Zero" game is scheduled to launch in 2021. No platforms were revealed.

We should be getting more details on all three new games at the Kadokawa Games Dai Kanshasai 2019 on October 19.
