Following the confirmation of a sequel to Metro Exodus, Dmitry Glukhovsky, author of the Metro book series, has confirmed his involvement in the next game's story via Instagram. The last Metro game that Glukhovsky was involved in was Metro: Last Light, which was released back in 2013. Additionally, Glukhovsky was involved in Metro 2033's story. In his place, Andrew Prokhorov took care of Metro Exodus' story. There's no word on if the next Metro game will be based on another Metro novel or not.The Metro book series kicked off back in 2002 with Metro 2033, followed by Metro 2034 in 2009, and Metro 2035 in 2015. The novels were extremely popular in Russia and they weren't as popular in North America. Since Glukhovsky wasn't involved in writing Metro Exodus, it's unclear if he was working on another Metro novel.Metro Exodus launched back in February and it went onto have THQ Nordic's largest launch in the company's history. Additionally, The Two Colonels, the game's next DLC, will be shown off at Gamescom next Monday. With its incredible graphics and atmosphere, Metro Exodus is up there as one of my favorite games of the year. Between its new DLC and the game's sequel coming in the next couple years, I'm so excited to experience more of what the Metro series has to offer.

While we wait for the next Metro game, Metro Exodus is available now on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
