THQ Nordic released its extended financial report this morning featuring sales figures through March 31, 2019, and in the process, touched on the newer release of Metro Exodus.

Deep Silver, who is owned by THQ Nordic and published Metro Exodus, reported that the game did incredibly well for itself upon first releasing in February. In fact, according to the report, Metro Exodus had the best launch of any single game in THQ Nordic's history so far. Metro Exodus was said to have "performed in line with management’s expectations and has recouped all investments in development and marketing." For the game to have already remade all of its money in just about 6 weeks or so is an incredibly positive sign and says good things about the entirety of Metro moving forward.

In addition, THQ Nordic also divulged in the financial document that it has more plans for Metro's developer 4A Games. As of now, 4A Games is said to be working on an unannounced "AAA-project." No details on whether or not this game in question belongs to existing IP or if it will be entirely new was divulged. That said, the prospect of 4A Games already working on something else is exciting. It also lets us somewhat know the identity of one of the 48 currently unannounced projects development at THQ Nordic.

It'll probably be awhile before we see or hear anything about this future 4A Games title but I'm looking forward to learning about what it is. In the meantime, additional DLC for Metro Exodus is set to start arriving later this summer and will continue to release into 2020.

Metro Exodus is out now on PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
