Metro: Last Light’s New Owner Announces its New Release Date
The THQ ordeal has understandably delayed quite a few titles that were set for release in the near-future. Franchises like Red Faction, Homefront, and Darksiders are perpetually stuck in oblivion until they are picked up by new developers. Games like South Park: The Stick of Truth, WWE 2K14, Saints Row 4, and of course, Metro: Last Light were a bit luckier. They all still exist and are still in active development, though there is a degree of uncertainty regarding their release dates.
It seems that that degree of uncertainty surrounding Metro: Last Light, however, has been lifted. The game’s new owner, Koch Media, has announced that the game has been pushed from its original mid-March window to May 14th, 2013 (North and Latin America) and May 17th, 2013 (Europe). The mere two month delay was due to the desire to, “strike the balance between bringing the best out of Metro: Last Light and not keep the fans waiting longer than necessary,” as per Koch Media’s CEO, Dr. Klemens Kundratitz.
Metro: Last Light is being developed by 4A Games and will be published by Deep Silver for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC.
