Metroid Dread is another deadly mission for Samus Aran, where she needs to extinct a new parasite, but things get twisted for the protagonist in the ending boss fight and her final suit in the game appears to be something very unique, confusing the fans.

As another critically-acclaimed entry from the Metroid series, Metroid Dread sends Samus Aran on a new mission on a new planet to fully annihilate a parasite.

During the game, the player goes through various difficulties and earns multiple skills and abilities, which changes the color pallet of Samus' suit over time. However, a twist at the end replaces all the abilities of Samus with Hyper Beam. (Be aware that the next paragraphs contain heavy spoilers. Do NOT read if you haven't finished the game yet.)

Metroid Dread Samus Final Suit Explained

After a big fight against Raven Beak, Samus cannot manage to defeat him. Raven Beak tries to suffocate Samus and she blanks out. While everything seems to be over for Samus, she suddenly awakens by her full Metroid ability, draining a huge amount of energy from Raven Beak and even his spaceship.

This awakening gives Samus a raw Metroid-style suit, with the ability to shoot Hyper Beat at the mutated Raven Beak who now shows the raw power Parasite X. Samus manages to kill Raven Beak and destroy the parasite and rushes all the way back to her space jet to leave the planet ZDR, which is on the edge of collapsing.

When Samus attempts to take off, the AI warns her that the energy-draining suit wouldn't allow the jet to leave the planet in one piece. With almost no time left, Samus faces Quiet Robe at her jet, who somehow sacrifices himself in order to return Samus' suit to its normal form. After that, Samus leaves ZDR, and the planet collapses.

Metroid Dread is now available exclusively on Nintendo Switch.
