Mere minutes before Nintendo's E3 2019 Direct is set to kick off, a new first-party title has now potentially been divulged ahead of the live stream.

According to Walmart Canada, a new game in the Metroid series is now apparently coming to the Switch. The exact title of the game hasn't been divulged but it is set to come to Switch and has a placeholder date of December 31, 2019. That said, the listing does have some discrepancies as EA is said to be the one publishing the game, which almost certainly isn't true.

It's hard to know just what this potential Metroid game could be, but it almost certainly isn't that of Metroid Prime 4, which had its development rebooted earlier this year. The easiest guess is that this could be that of the much-rumored Metroid Prime Trilogy for Switch, but again, without an exact title mentioned here it's really hard to be certain.

Regardless of what exactly this could be, hopefully, we'll learn more specifics as soon as today's Direct starts.
