As the final conference to close out the pre-E3 festivities, Nintendo delivered a good amount of announcements and news from things we expected to hear, such as a full reveal for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate for Nintendo Switch, today's launch of Fortnite for the system, new content for Xenoblade Chronicles 2, and more, though two big titles were missing from the presentation that many were hoping to hear about: Metroid Prime 4, and the next core installment of the Pokemon series.

In response to an interview question from IGN, Nintendo of America's Bill Trinen explained that the reasoning behind there being no presentation for Metroid Prime 4 or the next core Pokemon titles at E3 2018 was that the company intended on keeping their focus down to titles coming between now and early 2019, as those titles specifically are "probably a bit further out."

Trinen added in his statement to IGN that "we want to show stuff when we think it's ready to show," and that despite titles like the previously-mentioned two not making an appearance at E3 2018, he affirmed that the games "are being worked on."

This time around, Trinen said that Nintendo wanted to shift its focus towards Super Smash Bros. Ultimate and Pokemon: Let's Go Pikachu!/Let's Go Eevee!, which clearly seem to be the titles that Nintendo will be driving its holiday push behind.
