With Super Smash Bros. for Wii U just on the horizon, anticipation for the latest and greatest in the world of Smash Bros. is at an all-time high – luckily, while Nintendo and game director Masahiro Sakurai have debunked the chances of DLC coming to the game, the previously-announced addition of Mewtwo will be available to those that don’t purchase both the 3DS and Wii U versions of the game.
On the official Japanese Nintendo website for the latest Super Smash Bros. titles, the previously-announced reveal of Mewtwo, who will be available in Spring 2015 as a download for those that purchase both the 3DS and Wii U versions of the title, was clarified on the site that the character will be available at a later time as paid DLC. \
Though Sakurai confirmed this week that there are no plans to provide additional characters to either the 3DS or Wii U Super Smash Bros. titles, the Mewtwo promotion will also be offered to those that only have one version of the game at a later date.
Super Smash Bros. for 3DS is available now, with Super Smash Bros. for Wii U to release on November 21st, 2014.
