During the "50-Fact Extravaganza" Nintendo Direct broadcast, Nintendo announced that Mewtwo will be joining the cast of playable characters in Super Smash Bros. For 3DS & Wii U. He will be available as free downloadable content for owners of both the 3DS and Wii U versions of  Super Smash Bros. Mewtwo is still in development, and he will not be made available until sometime during Spring 2015.

Mewtwo was originally a playable character in Super Smash Bros. Melee. His move set revolves around psychic powers. While not much has been shown aside from his character model in both games, but it's safe to assume his move set will be similar to his move set in Melee.

Super Smash Bros. for Wii U is scheduled to release on November 21st in North America and December 5th in Europe, and December 6th in Japan.
