Microsoft Predicts Xbox to Grow in Fans and Profitability due to Halo 5 and Strength of Xbox and Xbox Live

During Microsoft’s financial conference call for investors and analysts, Chief Financial Officer Amy Hood provided the company’s predictions for the current fiscal year and quarter (from July 1st to September 30th).

“With the strength of Xbox and Xbox live, along with the launch of Halo 5 in october, Xbox will continue to grow both fans and profitability.”

Hood also mentioned that a revenue of 2.0 to 2.1 billion dollars is expected for the current fircal quarter in the Computer and Gaming Hardware segment (that includes Xbox consoles). For the Devices and Consumer Other (that includes games and Xbox Live) segment, the prediction is between 2.2 and 2.3 billion dollars in revenue, driven among others by Xbox Live transactions.

Speaking about predictions, Hood also explained that Xbox hardware “outperformed significantly” the forecasts for the quarter that ended on June 30th.
