Microsoft Won’t Have a Press Conference at Gamescom 2016, Will Host New FanFest

on July 13, 2016 10:25 AM

Microsoft hosted a press briefing at Gamescom in Cologne for a few years in a row, but this time around there won’t be one, as officially announced today.

On the other hand, the fan-facing presence of the house of Xbox will be renewed, with a “new and more intimate Xbox FanFest experience,” about which more details will be shared “soon.”

The publisher will of course have a booth at the trade show, but will shift its presence to Hall 8, via the North Entrance. There will be plenty of hands-on opportunities, including Gears of War 4, Forza Horizon 3, Halo Wars 2, ReCore and Sea of Thieves, We Happy Few, Everspace and Cuphead.

Of course, you can expect me to be on the show floor to share whatever Microsoft will showcase.
