A few days ago we reported about a prank probably born from 4chan, spreading false instructions in order to brick people's Xbox One consoles by promising unsupported backwards compatibility with Xbox 360 game.

Xbox Live's Director of Programming Larry "Major Nelson" Hryb almost immediately picked up the ball and announced on Twitter that the prank could make the console inoperable, but it's quite hard to remain completely serious about something that outlandish, so he went to NeoGaf to crack a few jokes about the whole issue.

It works better if you cover it with a wet towel first. THAT'S the real secret.

When asked "Does it kill a part of your soul to have to actually tell people this is a bad idea?" Hryb's response was equally tongue in cheek.

Fearing for the future of humanity is more like it.

Classy but hilarious was his response to one of the replies to his warning tweet.

Touché

Touché indeed Larry, but it's all in good fun.

Nice to see that with all the controversy and console war arguments that are grinding out the patience of many, he's holding on to his sense of humor. Just remember, he's joking, so don't go wrapping your Xbox One in a wet towel please.
