Microsoft’s Phil Spencer Wants to Do Better with PC Releases; Quantum Break Will Improve

on April 11, 2016 4:12 PM

It’s no mystery by now that Microsoft has been having some problems with its most prominent PC releases lately (to be fair, they’re hardly alone in this), and Xbox Division Head Phil Spencertook to Twitter to explain that the company aims to do better.

Spencer also mentioned that like Gears of War: Ultimate Edition improved, Quantum Break will as well.

It has been a rather hectic period for PC gamers, with many console ports releasing in various degrees of disrepair across the board.

The fact that developers are still coming to grip with DirectX 12, and that the new API does not take care of many aspects of optimization on the driver side like DirectX 11, but places responsibility for that back in the hands of the coders themselves (this is the price for access “closer to the metal”), surely must not help as well.

Hopefully Microsoft will manage to correct the issues, especially considering that Quantum Break looks really, really pretty on PC.
