MicroVolts Entering Second Closed Beta, Looks Pretty Awesome

By Allen Park

January 27, 2011

MicroVolts is a PC indie title from Rock Hippo that looks like one part TF2, one part Micro Machines, and one part Toy Story, where various battle-centric toys duke it out for, well, I have no clue. Does it really matter?  These are toys that’re ganking each other just for the hell of it.  I only wish my Transformers were equally badass.

Anyway, it’s been in beta for a few months, and it’s just about to enter its second beta now, and is now accepting peeps to join in on it. Just submit your e-mail here, and if you’re lucky you’ll be accepted. The game actually looks pretty impressive, and looks like great fun. Hit the jump for the full gameplay trailer and judge for yourself.

No idea on when MicroVolts actually comes out, but it should be soon, and I can’t wait.

Allen is an utter whore of a gamer; he's completely open-minded to all games, be they AAA blockbusters or $5 casual children's games. His focus is on indie games specifically, valuing gameplay and ingenuity over sparkly visuals and ridiculous gimmicks. When he's not geeking out over the newest art game, he's out toning his sexy, sculpted shoulders while surfing epic 1.5ft waves, or having a good time with local, high-gravity microbrews.
