Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor Walkthrough Shows How The Game's Unique Nemesis System Works

The upcoming Lord of The Rings game will set itself apart by introducing a new mechanic that will make each playthrough unique for every player.

Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor has the “Nemesis System”. This system features procedurally generated enemies that are influenced by players’ actions. This system was influenced by sports games and how your actions in those titles affect how the season plays out. Monolith Studios wanted something “next gen” out of this open world game and they feel that the Nemesis System will allow for a lot of variety and for players to create their own stories.

This eight minute video also shows combat and platforming. It seems as if Shadow of Mordor is taking the best parts of contemporary action adventure games in these areas. They seem to work pretty well so I don’t really see a problem with that. Combat is fast and smooth and the platforming and stealth seem pretty tight as well.

Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor will be released sometime this year on PC, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One.
