Middle-earth: Shadow of War Video Details New Nemesis System Features and Nemesis Forts
Today, new gameplay footage of Middle-earth: Shadow of War from publisher Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and developer Monolith Productions has surfaced, courtesy of IGN.
The new video — which features Alpha gameplay footage — specifically focuses on some of the new features in the New Nemesis System and Nemesis fortresses.
The video reveals that each Nemesis fort has a its own level. For example the one in the video has a level of 162. Thus in the video it talks about how you can assassinate one of the war chiefs of said fort and make it easier to attack by lowering the level.
Killing the war chiefs underneath the Warlord (the ruler of the fort) not only weakens the fort, but also weakens the tribe associated with the Warlord. You can also attack outposts and destroy totems and monuments of said tribe, which also weakens their influence on the area. Once you conquer the fort (which means you conquer the region), you can install your own overlord. Whatever war chief of yours you choose to promote to Warlord, will not only effect the fortress and how it looks, but the wilderness of the entire region. However, you can also swap out one Overlord with a new one of your choice whenever you want.
Middle-earth: Shadow of War is set to launch for Xbox One, Project Scorpio, PC, PS4, and PS4 Pro, on August 22, 2017 in North America, and on August 25th in Europe (it’s unclear if it will launch for Project Scorpio on these dates, because Microsoft’s upcoming console still doesn’t have a release date).
