Although the game was a bit controversial before launch because of the decision to include loot boxes, there is no denying that developer Monolith Productions has done a good job in supporting Middle-earth: Shadow of War in the form of both paid and free DLC. Today, that support is continuing with the release of Online Fight Pits, which is available as a free download for all players. To celebrate this extra mode's launch, a brand new trailer was revealed.

The trailer, which you can check out at the end of the article, shows off some of the Online Fight Pits in all of its gruesome and violent glory, providing an example of how each match could go.

In the new mode, players will be able to fight against enemies that are a part of other players' armies. Each time you defeat these enemies you'll be rewarded with new items, upgrades, and more.

In other Shadow of War news, two weeks ago the game was updated to version 1.06, which fixed a number of bugs and included support for the latest DLC, the Slaughter Tribe.

Middle-earth: Shadow of War was officially released on October 10, 2017, and is available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Windows PC.
