As a sequel to the surprise hit Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor, the upcoming Middle-earth: Shadow of War is highly-anticipated for players to return to the its Lord of the Rings inspired setting and to thrust players back into the game's signature Nemesis System. However, Nintendo Switch players are (most likely) to be left out, unfortunately.

Speaking in an interview with GameSpot, Monolith creative VP Michael de Plater said the studio has "no plans for the Switch at this time," turning down the hopes that the game - which is sure to be massive in scale and technical needs - will not be coming to the system, at least any time soon.

While many of the year's biggest games are not planning to come to the Nintendo Switch any time soon, such as Destiny 2 and Shadow of War, there's still some big titles in the pipeline for the system such as Super Mario Odyssey and (hopefully) more down the line to be announced later this year.

Middle-earth: Shadow of War releases for PS4, Xbox One, and PC on August 22nd, 2017.
