With Simon Belmont, Richter Belmont, King K. Rool, Chrom, and Dark Samus, recently revealed to be playable characters and echo fighters in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, players have speculated how exactly you'll be unlocking the massive amount of characters in the game.

You'll currently start with the original cast of characters unlocked, and as of right now Nintendo has not revealed how players can unlock the other large quantity of fighters. Best Buy Canada may have provided some insight as to one method players can use to unlock fighters quickly if they don't feel like dedicating lots of time; amiibos.

In Wolf's amiibo product description you can find this interesting line:

"Simply tap the amiibo accessory to the NFC touchpoint on your game system to unlock this Space Pirate."

If this description is true, it means that those who own a wide variety of Smash Bros. amiibo may be able to unlock characters more quickly if they want. Based on previous Smash games, you'll likely also be able to unlock characters by simply playing matches as well, and we have yet to see one unannounced game mode that was blurred out on the title's main menu during the last Super Smash Bros. Ultimate direct.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate will be available exclusively on the Nintendo switch later this year on December 7. You can preorder the game right now on Amazon if you'd like.
